So inspired by the tonal, luxe layers in this recent WSJ Magazine editorial. As a warm weather lover, these soft coats and oversized pieces actually make me dread cooler weather a little less. I want to pair some of our shorter collars with high necked, ribbed sweaters this fall, and personally love the idea of the sleek Golden Rule necklace (available in store at Neiman Marcus) over a soft grey turtleneck.
I’m particularly attracted to these layered looks with sleek accessories because they transition well from city to country – something I always keep in mind while designing. I love accessories that can be worn as naturally in the countryside as they can out on the town. Speaking of, dying to check out this Hudson Valley Mill House. I think fisherman’s sweaters and collars with special metallic and leather details would fit right at home in this stunning stone mill house with mid-century decor:
Here’s to not being scared of fall, adventures out of the city, and the short collar trend that I just can’t let go of.
